The Perfect Setting for Your Session

The sitter session captures a precious milestone — when baby can sit up independently and show off their gorgeous personality. Around 6–9 months is the perfect age for expressive portraits, big smiles, and that sense of wonder babies exude.

Studio Session

Our studio setup for sitter sessions uses low, padded surfaces and cushions to keep baby comfortable and safe. Multiple backdrops allow us to capture a variety of looks.

Home / On-Location

Home sitter sessions are wonderfully natural. Baby surrounded by familiar objects and family — the images feel warm, personal and real.

How to Prepare

01

Ideal age window

6–9 months. Baby should be able to sit independently for at least 30 seconds at a time. Do not worry about wobbles — we have spotters ready.

Feed beforehand

A well-fed, comfortable baby is a smiling baby. Try to feed 30 minutes before the session begins.

Bring favourite toys

Familiar toys help capture genuine reactions — that expression of joy and wonder when they grab something they love is gold.

Wardrobe

This is a great opportunity for an adorable themed outfit. We will suggest options that photograph beautifully at this age.

Include parents

Parent-baby interaction shots at this age are incredibly special — the way baby looks at you at 7 months is something you will want to remember forever.

01What if my baby keeps falling over?
That is perfectly normal at this age! We use padded surfaces and always have a spotter. Some of the most adorable photos come from the in-between moments and we are always ready.
02Can we do both sitting and tummy time poses?
Absolutely. We incorporate a variety of poses — sitting, tummy time, standing with support, and some on their back — to capture the full range of this developmental stage.
03Is this the same as a milestone session?
Yes — a sitter session is a milestone session focused on the sitting stage (6–9 months). It pairs beautifully with a newborn session and a cake smash as a three-session milestone package.
04How is it different from a newborn session?
Newborn sessions focus on delicate posed sleeping images. Sitter sessions are more interactive — baby is awake, responsive, expressive. Very different energy and equally beautiful.
05Can I book all three milestones together?
Yes — we offer a milestone package that covers newborn, sitter (6–9 months), and cake smash (12 months) at a bundled rate. Ask us for details when you book.
